Five high school games to watch

*Grayson at Brookwood

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Brookwood Community Stadium, Snellville

Records, rankings: Grayson is 6-0 overall, 4-0 in Region 8-AAAAA and No. 1; Brookwood is 3-2, 3-0 and unranked.

Last meeting: Grayson won 10-7 in 2008.

Three things to watch

-- Grayson can all but clinch the Region 8-AAAAA title with a victory. The combined record of its final three opponents is 0-16.

-- Grayson’s Ean Pemberton rushed for 157 yards and three touchdowns, all in the first half, in the Rams’ 34-0 victory against Shiloh last week.

-- Brookwood scored five touchdowns in the second quarter of its 64-15 victory against Meadowcreek last week. Julian Suber scored three times.

*Griffin at North Clayton

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Southern Crescent Stadium, Riverdale

Records, rankings: Griffin is 5-0 overall, 3-0 in Region 4-AAAA and No. 1; North Clayton is 6-0, 4-0 and No. 5.

Last meeting: North Clayton won 23-20 in 2008.

Three things to watch

-- Griffin has the No. 2 offense and No. 2 defense in Class AAAA, averaging 39.6 points per game while allowing only 4.8.

-- North Clayton is led by versatile back Clarence Jackson, who has committed to Mississippi.

-- North Clayton’s victory against the Bears propelled it to the region championship last season and ended a 19-game losing streak in the series.

*Walton at Milton

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Eagles’ Nest, Alpharetta

Records, rankings: Walton is 5-0 overall and 4-0 in Region 6-AAAAA; Milton is 4-1, 4-0. Neither team is ranked.

Last meeting: Walton won 24-20 in 2008.

Three things to watch

-- Both teams are in a four-way tie for first place in the region with Lassiter and Roswell. Milton plays at Lassiter next week and at Roswell on Oct. 23.

-- Walton QB Joey Windler threw two touchdown passes to Patrick Cosgrove in the Raiders’ 20-7 victory against Alpharetta last week.

-- Milton has lost eight consecutive games in the series and has not beaten Walton since 1994.

*Towers at Dunwoody

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, North DeKalb Stadium, Chamblee

Records, rankings: Both teams are 3-2 overall and 2-0 in Region 5-AAA Division A. Neither team is ranked.

Last meeting: Dunwoody won 49-16 in 2008.

Three things to watch

-- Towers has perhaps the best passing game in DeKalb County, led by quarterback Miles Gooch.

-- Dunwoody’s Dalen Claytor rushed for 140 yards in the Wildcats’ 20-9 victory against Cedar Grove two weeks ago.

-- The winner takes sole possession of first place in Region 5-AAA Division A.

*Alpharetta at Lassiter

When, where: 7:30 p.m. Friday, Frank Fillman Stadium, Marietta

Records, rankings: Alpharetta is 2-3 overall, 1-3 in Region 6-AAAAA; Lassiter is 5-0, 4-0. Neither team is ranked.

Last meeting: Lassiter won 25-22 in 2008.

Three things to watch

-- Lassiter quarterback Hutson Mason, who passed for a Class AAAAA record 486 yards against Campbell on Sept. 18, threw for 202 in less than two quarters against Wheeler two weeks ago.

-- Lassiter is 5-0 for the first time in school history and has won eight consecutive regular-season games dating to last season.

-- Alpharetta has two major Division I receivers in and Michael Bennett (committed to Georgia) and Brandon Terry (Wake Forest).
