Each of the four games set for the Aug. 21, 2010, event match a Gwinnett County school against a Cobb County school. The same eight will play in 2011, but against different opponents.
Conspicuous in its absence will be Camden County, which has played in the event each season since 2005. Camden is 5-1 in the Corky Kell, its only loss to Grayson this year.
With the addition of first-timers Kell, North Gwinnett, Lassiter and Peachtree Ridge, the number of participating schools through the years will rise to 34. The event has been held each season since 1992.
Schools are chosen primarily by event founder Dave Hunter of Brookwood and Jimmy Dorsey of McEachern.
The 2010 Corky Kell lineup:
11:45 a.m. - Grayson (12-1) vs. Kell (6-5)
2:30 p.m. - North Gwinnett (12-1) vs. Lassiter (12-1)
5:30 p.m. - Peachtree Ridge (10-3) vs. McEachern (10-1)
8:30 p.m. - Brookwood (6-6) vs. Walton (6-4)
Note: Gwinnett schools on the left, Cobb on the right.
