Collins Hill outlasts Parkview in opener

Charles Perkins rushed for 303 yards and a touchdown as Collins Hill defeated Parkview 10-7 Friday.
Perkins’ 28-yard run tied the score 7-7 in the second quarter, and Craig Tanguay’s 27-yard field goal in the third was the game-winner.
Parkview downed a punt at the Collins Hill 3-yard line late in the third quarter, but Collins Hill went 87 yards to set up Tanguay’s kick midway through the fourth.
Parkview quarterback Kalik Barnes was 15-of-24 passing for 190 yards. His 41-yard pass to Jay Davis in the first quarter opened the scoring.
Collins Hill held Parkview to 12 yards rushing and sacked Barnes twice.
Collins Hill outgained Parkview 376-202 but had touchdowns called back for holding in each half. Parkview blocked a field-goal attempt on the final play of the second half.
Perkins, who has committed to Georgia Tech, had 33 carries and made two first-down runs in the final minutes to clinch the win.
