Dwyer, also the ACC's preseason player of the year, received 41 of a possible 44 votes from the media at the ACC Football Kickoff in Greensboro, N.C. last weekend. He is seeking to become just the first two-time player of the year since FSU QB Charlie Ward in 1992-93. Dwyer averaged 107 rushing yards per game last season.
Teammate Morgan Burnett received 34 votes, tying with Duke defensive tackle Vince Oghobaase and FSU linebacker Dekoda Watson. Burnett had seven interceptions last season, tied for tops in the nation.
Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas was the third Jacket on the team. He caught 39 passes for 627 yards last season.
