Tech jumps to No. 7 in AP poll

Georgia Tech moved up three spots to No. 7 in the Associated Press college football poll released Sunday.

The Yellow Jackets defeated Wake Forest 30-27 in overtime on Saturday.
It ties for the highest ranking Tech has had since Nov. 1, 1999. The Jackets lost to Virginia the next week to fall to No. 13.
The Jackets are the highest ranked one-loss team in the poll.
Florida, Texas, Alabama, TCU and Cincinnati composed the top five, followed by Boise State, Tech, Pittsburgh, LSU and Ohio State.
