Georgia Tech moves up to No. 19

Georgia Tech moved up three spots to No. 19 in the Associated Press rankings released Sunday.

The Yellow Jackets improved to 5-1 with their 49-44 defeat of Florida State on Saturday in Tallahassee.
Tech will host No. 4 Virginia Tech in an important game in the ACC on Saturday at Bobby Dodd Stadium. Should Georgia Tech win, it will be tied for the lead in the Coastal Division with the Hokies but would hold the first tiebreaker (head-to-head results).
Should the Hokies (5-1) win, they will hold the tiebreaker with wins over both Tech and Miami.
Georgia, which dropped from the poll last week, didn't receive a vote after losing to Tennessee, 45-19.
