Two Falcons choices were among the top five draft picks out of Virginia Tech since 2000, according to NFL.com's Chase Goodbread.

Goodbread’s pick for No. 3 was quarterback Michael Vick, the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2001. Vick had a great deal of success for a few years in Atlanta before legal issues from dog-fighting charges sidetracked his career.

At No. 4, Goodbread listed cornerback DeAngelo Hall, who the Falcons selected with the eighth overall pick in 2004. Hall played his first four years in Atlanta before the Falcons traded him to the Oakland Raiders for a 2008 second-round pick and a 2009 fifth-round pick.

Goodbread chose Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor at No. 1, Houston Texans offensive tackle Duane Brown at No. 2, and Baltimore Ravens quarterback Tyrod Taylor at No. 5.
