The Dream’s Erika de Souza and Sancho Lyttle were named Eastern Conference reserves for the WNBA All-Star game on Monday. The game will be played Saturday in Connecticut.

De Souza and Lyttle are the first All-Stars in franchise history. There was no game last year due to the Olympics.

“Erika and Sancho are definitely deserving of this honor,” Dream general manager and head coach Marynelll Meadors said in a statement. “It shows not only their hard work and dedication but the respect that the other coaches in our conference have for what they have done this season.”

De Souza, a 6-foot-5 center, leads the WNBA in rebounds at 8.6 per game while averaging 11.5 points and 1.4 blocks. She leads the WNBA in double-doubles (5) and is second in the league in field goal percentage (57.7). De Souza, from Brazil, is in her fourth WNBA season.

Lyttle, a 6-4 forward, averages 13.5 points, 6.7 rebounds and a team-high 2.2 steals. She is second on the Dream in points, rebounds and blocks. Lyttle, who played collegiately at Houston, is also in her fourth season.
