The Atlanta Dream made the first of what could be several moves to bolster the roster before the upcoming WNBA draft.

The Dream on Thursday traded center Michelle Snow to the San Antonio Silver Stars for a second round pick in 2011 and the rights to Hungarian national player Dalma Ivanyi.

“I think this trade gives us the opportunity to get more depth on our team,” Dream general manager/coach Marynell Meadors said.

Snow, a 6-foot-5 post player, averaged 4.5 points and four rebounds per game last season. She played in 34 games and made two starts for the Dream.

“Michelle did a great job for us and I was pleased with the way she played,” Meadors said. “I hated to make this trade.”

The loss of Snow means that the Dream, which has the ninth pick in the 2010 draft, probably will select a forward. The draft will held April 8 in Secaucus, N.J.

“We will have to look for someone in the post,” Meadors said.

Ivanyi, a 5-foot-9 guard, is the starting point guard on the Hungarian national team and averages 11 points and six assists for MiZo Pecs in the EuroLeague. Meadors said Ivanyi probably won’t play for the Dream this season because of prior European commitments.

Ivanyi was named EuroLeague women player of the week on Feb. 8 after having 24 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists in a game in a playoff series against Wisla Can-Pack.

“This trade gives us the opportunity to have a veteran point guard who will be waiting to come to Atlanta,” Meadors said.
