Stafford delivers ‘Top 10 List’ on ‘Letterman’

Newly minted Detroit Lion Matthew Stafford makes a return to late-night television Monday night on “The Late Show with David Letterman.”
The former Georgia quarterback was invited to read the show?s “Top 10 List,” titled, “Thoughts That Went Through Matthew Stafford’s Mind on Draft Day.”
Among the zingers were:
• “You don’t often hear, ‘Congratulations, you?re going to Detroit.’ “
• “If the Lions win one game this year, I’m a hero.”
• “Why does Jessica Simpson keep calling me?”
• “I’d gladly go No. 2 if it means not having to appear on ‘Letterman.’ “
Stafford was the top pick in the NFL Draft Saturday. He has signed a a six-year, $72 million contract to play for the Lions.
Stafford appeared on Jimmy Fallon’s late-nigh show on April 16, during which he took part in a skeet shooting segment in which Stafford smashed dinner plates with footballs.
