In an effort to fill the seats for ESPN cameras, Georgia will make admission free for next month’s G-Day spring intra-squad football game in Sanford Stadium.

“We’re hoping all fans feel there is nothing to keep them from coming and filling up that stadium and having a great sight for the nation to see,” Georgia coach Mark Richt said Wednesday.

The April 11 game will mark the first time Georgia’s spring game has been nationally televised. Kickoff is set for 1 p.m.

The game will culminate Georgia’s spring practice, which begins on March 17.

For last year’s G-Day game, admission cost $5 for adults and $3 for youth. That game, played in a cold drizzle, drew an announced crowd of 19,874.
