  • Georgia athletics director Damon Evans fired Felton on Jan. 29 after 5 1/2 years of employment. However, as per terms of Felton’s contract, extended and amended on July 1, 2007, the Bulldogs will have to continue paying him until the contact expires on July 31, 2011.

UGA owes Felton $533,641.08 in base salary, $230,000 for endorsements (Nike), $570,000 for radio/TV compensation and $150,000 for his basketball camp.

The contract stipulates that Georgia’s payments will be reduced by the amount of any compensation Felton receives from another job, should he decide to accept one.

According to the terms of Felton’s contract, Georgia had the right to have Felton work in an unspecified capacity for the next six months while he is still technically in its employ. However, UGA waived that right.

Felton did not return phone messages seeking comment. He has not accepted interview requests since his dismissal.
