Here are the highs and lows in Knowshon Moreno’s career at Georgia:
Sept. 1, 2007: Thomas Brown, pegged as the No. 1 running back going into the season, plays his first game since injuring his knee midway through the 2006 season. While Brown has two rushing touchdowns against Oklahoma State, Moreno quietly leads Georgia with 70 yards rushing.

Sept. 8, 2007: Moreno begins to show the explosiveness that his teammates have said they’ve seen in practices in 2006. He rushes for 115 yards on 14 carries against South Carolina, with a 50-yard scamper.
Sept. 15, 2007: Moreno’s first touchdown comes as part of 94 yards against Western Carolina.
Oct. 13, 2007: After three quiet games, Moreno rushes for 157 yards on 28 carries in a 20-17 win over Vanderbilt.
Oct. 27, 2007: Moreno’s first career highlight moment comes against Georgia’s most hated rival. He plows Florida for 188 yards and three touchdowns on 33 carries to bury the Gators 42-30. “Did you see some of those runs?” center Fernando Velasco said. “Wow! The moves he makes, the way he lowers his shoulder and runs over ‘em, how he beats ‘em with speed sometimes. That was all Knowshon.”
Nov. 3, 2007: Moreno tops 1,000 yards for the season as the Dogs defeat Troy 44-34. He finishes with 196 yards and three touchdowns.
Nov. 10, 2007: With the Dogs dressed in black, Moreno scores twice and tops 100 yards for the fourth consecutive game in a 45-20 thumping of Auburn.
Nov. 17, 2007: Moreno becomes the first Georgia RB since Herschel Walker (1982) to top 100 yards in five consecutive games. He finishes with 124 yards on 22 carries against Kentucky, with one touchdown.
Jan. 1, 2008: Moreno scores twice in a Sugar Bowl win over Hawaii. The TD runs covered 17 yards and 11 yards.
Sept. 6, 2008: After a quiet season opener against Georgia Southern (59 yards), Moreno excites Bulldog Nation again, famously leaping over Central Michigan safety Vince Agnew. Moreno finished with 168 yards and three touchdowns. “I’ve never seen anything like that before,” Georgia defensive tackle Corvey Irvin said. “He might not even be human. Wow, how’d he do that, all in one motion?”
Sept. 27, 2008: Georgia’s national championships hopes take a dent with a 41-30 loss to Alabama. Falling behind 31-0, Moreno rushes for 34 yards on nine carries.
Oct. 11, 2008: Moreno bounces back to rush for 101 yards on 27 carries against Tennessee.
Oct. 18, 2008: Moreno rushes for a season-high 172 yards in a win over Vanderbilt.
Oct. 25, 2008: Moreno rushes for 163 yards and a touchdown in a win over LSU.
Nov. 1, 2008: Florida holds Moreno to 65 yards in a 49-10 demolition of the Dogs.
Nov. 8, 2008: Moreno adds three more touchdowns and 123 rushing yards in a 43-38 win over Kentucky. He becomes the second Georgia player to rush for more than 1,000 yards in consecutive seasons. Walker did it three consecutive seasons.
Nov. 15, 2008: Moreno catches the first touchdown of his career as part of 189 yards from scrimmage in a 17-13 win over Auburn.
Jan. 1, 2009: Moreno rushes for 68 yards and catches another touchdown pass in a Capital One Bowl win over Michigan State.
