Georgia head coach Mark Richt has heard nothing from offensive line coach Stacy Searels on his discussions with Auburn and was even unclear on what position Searels was interviewing for on incoming coach Gene Chizik’s staff.

Searles, an Auburn graduate, has been with Georgia for two seasons after four years as LSU’s offensive line coach.

Asked if he had discussed with athletic director Damon Evans an effort to keep Searels if he is offered a job, Richt answered, “Those things always get discussed. The bottom line is, of course, we want Stacy to stay. He’s an outstanding coach, an outstanding person. He was a No. 1 pick [for Richt’s staff]. You don’t usually get your No. 1 pick when you search.”
