Georgia DT Weston to miss first game

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution

Athens — Defensive tackle Kade Weston said he will not play against Georgia Southern on Saturday. The junior from Red Bank, N.J., said the knee injury that has plagued him for the past week is actually a medial collateral sprain and trainers are advising him to sit out.

Weston, a key piece of the Bulldogs’ four-man rotation at the two interior-tackle positions, was not sure when he may return.

“The trainers here know what’s best for me so I’m leaving it up to them,” Weston said.

Weston will be replaced in the rotation by either Ricardo Crawford or Brandon Wood, both sophomores.
