Thrashers sign forward Kozek

The Thrashers signed forward Andrew Kozek, the team’s second-round selection (53rd overall) in the 2005 NHL Draft, on Tuesday.

Kozek, 23, had 20 points (eight goals, 12 assists) in 38 games last season for the University of North Dakota. In 167 career games at North Dakota, Kozek had 65 points (38 goals, 27 assists).

Following the end of his collegiate season, the 5-foot-11, 195-pounder joined the Thrashers AHL affiliate in Chicago. He appeared in five games with the Wolves, scoring two goals.
