Morehouse’s Cargile earns All-America honors

Morehouse senior defensive back Jeffrey Cargile has been named to the 2008 SBN Sports Black College All-America team.

The 5-foot-9, 200-pound senior was one of three members of Division II’s Southern Intercollgiate Athletic Conference (SIAC) selected to the 24-man squad. Tuskegee had the other two representatives — junior offensive lineman Michael Stevens and senior quarterback Jacary Atkinson.

The 6-3, 205-pound Atkinson was the only repeat player on the squad and also repeated as offensive player of the year. Jackson State linebacker Marcellus Speaks was named defensive player of the year and Prairie View’s Henry Frazier III was named coach of the year.
