Four people were hurt in Suwanee Friday at the Tour de Georgia bicycle race when two spectators darted into the path of a motorycle carrying a Tour photographer, according to city nd Tour officials.

No bicyclists were endangered since the accident happened after the peloton of 120 riders had left the Town Center Park area during the launch of the fifth leg of the Tour.

Jackie Tyson, spokesman for the Tour, said none of the four suffered life threatening injuries and all probably would be released from hospitals by Friday. She said the motoryclist broke his wrist and the others were scraped and needed stitches.

Tyson said the pedestrians were 46 and 45 years old and came from Atlanta, but she and Suwanee police released no names or other details.

The motorcyclist carrying the photographer on the back of his motorcycle had just pulled out of Town Center Avenue to follow the peloton when a man and woman left the crowds of spectators lining the street and darted onto Buford Highway, said Lynne Dewilde, spokeswoman for the City of Suwanee.

All four people fell onto the street and were taken by amubulance to Gwinnett Medical Center facilities.
