100 entries on sale for AJC Peachtree Road Race

The Atlanta Track Club has released 100 entries for the 2009 AJC Peachtree Road Race to help raise money for its Kilometer Kids youth running program.

The club reached its capacity of 55,000 entrants at the close of the lottery on March 31. More then 10,000 applications were returned once all of the lottery slots had been filled.

Again this year, the Atlanta Track Club is offering spots a few weeks before the race.

The cost for one of these special entries is $150 - $117 of which is tax-deductible. Recipients of the special Peachtree numbers will be placed in either Time Group 2 or 3 for the July 4 race.

The goal of the Kilometer Kids program is to provide metro area youth the opportunity to improve their health and fitness through a fun and supportive running program. The program is divided into spring and fall editions.

The numbers are available on a first-come, first-serve basis at Atlanta Track Club.
