Atlanta women top-finishers at Boston Marathon

Two metro Atlanta women finished in the top 25 in Monday’s Boston Marathon.
Duluth’s Jennifer Feenstra, 28, came in 17th in the women’s race, crossing the line in 2 hours, 46 minutes, 16 seconds. Marietta’s Tamara Karrh, 39, finished 25th at 2:49:50.

Dr. William A. Moss of Marietta was Georgia’s top finisher on the men’s side, finishing 126th in 2 hours, 37 minutes, 45 seconds.
More than 26,000 runners participated in the 119th annual event.
Ethiopia’s Deriba Merga won the men’s race in a time of 2:08:42, while Kenya’s Salina Kosgei edged Ethiopia’s Dire Tune in a dramatic sprint on the women’s side. Kosgei’s posted time of 2:32:16 was one second better than Tune’s.
Georgia’s top three male finishers all are 26-year-olds. Following Moss were Atlanta’s Chris Healey (2:41:01) and Dunwoody’s Jeff Abbott (2:42:43).
