Ware County became the first No. 1 team to slip this season when the Class AAAA runner-up from 2007 lost its season opener to Coffee 24-0 last week.
Now, three other No. 1 teams must beat ranked opponents to keep their top spots.
Tucker, the new No. 1 in AAAA, is not one of them. The Tigers should have little trouble Friday at Adams Stadium against Lakeside, which lost 70-7 to Columbia last week.
Tucker, No. 1 for the first time since 1995, beat Brunswick 26-12 in its road opener Friday.
Only four games this week match ranked opponents, but three involve No. 1 teams. They are:
• North Hall (No. 7 in AAA) at Buford (No. 1 in A)
• Cairo (No. 1 in AAA) at Thomas County Central (No. 3 in AAAA)
• Savannah Christian (No. 6 in A) at Emanual County Institute (No. 1 in A)
• Wilcox County (No. 2 in A) at Perry (No. 8 in AAA)
