An opening night rout in Game 1 of their playoff series against Miami Sunday pumped the Hawks’ national profile through the roof.
But there’s still space available on the actual bandwagon.
There are still tickets available for Wednesday’s Game 2 at Philips Arena.
“We fully expect to sellout once again on Wednesday,” said Hawks’ vice president of public relations Arthur Triche. “The energy at Sunday’s game was evident that fan’s should get their tickets early if they want the best seats to cheer on the Hawks.”
Sunday’s game was a sellout, with 18,851 listed as the official attendance. It was, however, a typically late arriving crowd. There were loads of empty seats at the start of the game, prompting Hawks coach Mike Woodson to plead his team’s case afterwards.
“I saw some empty seats tonight,” Woodson said. “I’m begging and I’m pleading for people to come out.”
