Chicago — On a historic night in President Barack Obama’s hometown, the Hawks made a little history of their own.
Their 105-102 victory over Chicago at United Center on Tuesday night gave them their first season sweep of the Bulls, thanks to a monster shooting night from veteran point guard Mike Bibby.

They also defeated the Bulls 113-108 here Nov. 11 and followed that with a 129-117 shellacking of the Bulls Dec. 27 in Atlanta.
The Hawks won for the second straight night without two starters, having knocked off Toronto on Monday afternoon at Philips Arena.
Both Marvin Williams (concussion) and Al Horford (knee) remain on the injured list with no clear sign as to when they’ll be back.
Bibby helped make up for their absence with a season-high 31 points and six assists. His pull-up jumper over Bulls 7-footer Joakim Noah gave the Hawks a 104-98 lead with 18.9 seconds, serving as the final dagger as the Hawks improved to 25-16.
“Mike carried us,” coach Mike Woodson said. “And we talked about this the other day. I huddled these guys together and told them that the guys that maybe haven’t played, I know their timing might be a little off, but this is an opportunity to play. And the guys that have been playing for us, they have to step up it up and play big-time for us. And I thought Mike did that.”
The Hawks won despite getting outrebounded 48-34 without either Horford or Williams around to help Josh Smith, who had his second consecutive double-digit rebounding night with 14, to go with his 17 points.
The Hawks led by as many as 13 points early and 11 in the third quarter.
