The Hawks lost starting power forward Josh Smith with a sprained left ankle with 56.1 seconds to play in the first quarter of Friday’s game against Toronto at Philips Arena.

Smith is expected to be out two to four weeks with a high ankle sprain. He suffered the injury trying to block a shot. When he came down he landed on Zaza Pachulia’s foot and fell to the ground. He got up and limped off the floor, eventually making it to the locker room where the Hawks’ team doctors examined him. Pachulia replaced him in the starting lineup at the start of the second half
