In his final coaches’ poll ballot, LSU’s Les Miles ranked Georgia Tech 12th. Only three coaches ranked the Jackets higher.

Said Miles, “I think that talent-wise, this team would fare very well in the SEC.”

Miles noted a few players who caught his attention on film — on offense, B-back Jonathan Dwyer, quarterback Josh Nesbitt and wide receiver Demaryius Thomas. Defensively, he praised safety Morgan Burnett, ends Michael Johnson and Derrick Morgan and the linebacking group of Sedric Griffin, Kyle Jackson and Brad Jefferson.

A gamin’ they will go

The team hopped on buses after practice to go to Jillian’s at Discover Mills mall for lunch and video games. The trip has become something of a tradition for the team during its bowl preparations.

“(Wide receiver) Willie White last year beat me at ‘Hydro Thunder,’” said offensive tackle Nick Claytor. “I want revenge. That’s my plan — to get Willie back.”
