Georgia Tech’s top two quarterbacks, Josh Nesbitt and Jaybo Shaw, weren’t available to rescue the floundering offense.

Shaw did not dress after getting hit in the head against Duke and being limited in practice all week. Nesbitt was in uniform but unable to play because of a strained hamstring.

“If Josh could have played I would have put him in a long time ago,” coach Paul Johnson said. “He can run, he ran in practice and he practiced, but he never burst. He didn’t burst out.

“And I’m not going to put him in the game at 50 percent. We shouldn’t have to put him in the game. It wasn’t all the quarterback, trust me. Those five guys up front got their lunch handed to them pretty good, too.”

Johnson said he expects Nesbitt and Shaw to be ready next week when Tech prepares for Clemson.
