Fenway won’t host ACC baseball after all

Fenway Park won’t host the ACC baseball tournament in 2009, as scheduled.

Mike Dee, president of Fenway Sports Group, said a scheduling error has forced the ACC to look for a new home for the tournament. The 2010 tournament is still scheduled for the historic baseball stadium.

“It’s disappointing that this scheduling error has resulted in the upcoming championship not being played at Fenway Park, but we look forward to being at Fenway in 2010,” ACC Commissioner John Swofford in a statement to the media.

Fans who purchased tickets to the 2009 tournament will be entitled to a full refund. Ticket holders can visit www.redsox.com for more information.
