Published on: 06/25/08

ATLANTA (AP) — Rick Strom is moving from sideline reporter to the broadcast booth to serve as the new color analyst for Georgia Tech's radio broadcasts in 2008.

Strom, a quarterback at Georgia Tech from 1983-87, will replace Jeff Van Note as the partner for play-by-play announcer Wes Durham. Van Note, who has been part of the broadcast team since 2004, decided to devote more time to his family and his ongoing duties with the Atlanta Falcons broadcast team, according to Tuesday's announcement by Tech and ISP Sports.
