Officially, Georgia Tech has five quarterbacks going through spring practice. Josh Nesbitt and Calvin Booker work alongside walk-ons Bryce Dykes, Doc Coppage and Jim Henry.

But there's a third scholarship quarterback who has yet to miss a minute of spring drills. He's just not in uniform. Jaybo Shaw, still a high school senior, has been watching, learning and getting ready for his freshman year. He's certain to be the most mentally prepared recruit who didn't go through spring drills.

It all looks and sounds very familiar to him, because the Jackets' offense is the same as the one his father coaches at Flowery Branch.

"We call everything the same thing," Shaw said. "When coach [Paul] Johnson was at Georgia Southern, my dad clinic-ed with them."
