Ryan to star in ESPN ad spot

ESPN has a new star for its ongoing “This is SportsCenter” promotional ad campaign.

Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan was at the sports network’s headquarters in Bristol, Conn., on Monday shooting a segment, according to ESPN spokesman Dan Quinn.

Ryan’s 30-second spot, titled “Amazing,” also features SportsCenter anchors Hannah Storm and Josh Elliott. The ad will debut in the fall during the NFL season.

Ryan said he was impressed on his first visit to ESPN.

“Awesome,” Ryan said. “This place is huge. It’s cool to see how everything works. It was really great to get on the SportsCenter set and to see where everything gets done.”

Ryan isn’t so sure how the ad will go over in the Falcons locker room.

“I think they’ll try to be good about it, but, they’ll probably tease me,” Ryan said. “Such is life in an NFL locker room.”
