Rookie left tackle Sam Baker did not play in the second half of Sunday’s win over Kansas City after suffering flu like symptoms, including dizziness and nausea at halftime.
“Sam was not feeling well at halftime,” Falcons coach Mike Smith said. “We held him out. We felt it was the best thing to do.”

Baker left last week’s game in the second quarter with a concussion. He returned to practice on Wednesday.
Veteran Todd Weiner took over for Baker at left tackle and finished the game for the second week in a row.
Also, wide receiver Laurent Robinson, who had one catch for seven yards, left the game with an injured left knee. He had a heavy brace on the knee after the game.
The Wire
Linebacker Coy Wire saw his most extensive action this season. He played in place of Michael Boley in the team’s base defense.
Boley suffered a strained neck injury against Tampa Bay. He did play in some passing situations.
Norwood at QB
Running back Jerious Norwood, who finished with 75 yards rushing on 14 attempts, picked up four yards around right end when he played quarterback in the shot gun.
The second time the Falcons used the formation, wide receiver Harry Douglas was tackled for an eight-yard loss on a reverse by Tank Tyler.
Inactives
The Falcons listed the following players as inactive: safety Jamaal Fudge, cornerback David Irons, linebacker Tony Gilbert, center Alex Stepanovich, defensive end Simon Fraser, tackle Quinn Ojinnaka and tight end Jason Rader. D.J. Shockley was the third quarterback.
