“I knew it was coming,” Houston said. “I just jammed the wide receiver and he fell. I looked inside and the ball was coming. I caught the ball and didn’t see nothing but the end zone.”

The receiver was Dwayne Bowe. Houston played at Arkansas and against Bowe, of LSU, in Southeastern Conference college games.

“I pretty much know what his strengths and weaknesses are,” Houston said. “I basically just came out with the attitude that I wanted to shut him down.”

Grimes interception in the second quarter led to the Falcons third touchdown and a 24-0 lead.

“We were in a man, pressing,” Grimes said. “It was a curl, and I just broke, and I looked up. The ball was there, and I caught it. I tried to score, but I got tackled by my own man [Michael Boley]. That was exciting, definitely exciting, to get my first pick as a Falcon.”

The secondary had some help from the defensive line.

“The defensive line did a great job of putting pressure on the quarterback,” Houston said. “He didn’t have time to sit back there and make reads. We were able to be physical with the wide receivers.”
