Falcons receiver Brian Finneran, who's battling back from knee surgeries that have caused him to miss the last two seasons, was smiling as he walked off the field Thursday with quarterbacks coach Bill Musgrave.

He had made it to the organized team activities (OTA) finish line.

"I had to go through these whole OTAs healthy, which was my number one goal," Finneran said. "I'll just look forward to training camp now."

Few players have made it back into the league after missing two full seasons. Last season, Falcons quarterback Chris Redman achieved that feat.

"It's rare that it happens," Finneran said. "I think six guys have done it since 1994. It's tough to do."

Finneran appreciated the new coaching staff's understanding.

"If I feel like it's getting sore I can talk to those guys, they understand and I can take some plays off or something," Finneran said.
