2. The year: 2002. The score: NIU 48, Miami of Ohio 41. The story: Miami led 24-7 early in the third quarter, but Mike broke off a 70-yard TD run to turn it around. He had 20 carries for 222 yards and 5 TDs that day. Miami's Ben Roethlisberger was 41 of 61 for 525 yards passing.

3. Mike rushed for 983 yards as a backup running back his freshman year.

4. He was nicknamed "The Burner" by then-NIU sports information director Mike Korcek.

5. NIU had "Turner The Burner Hot Sauce" bottled in his honor prior to his senior year. The quality of the sauce has yet to be determined.
