A collection of comments from fans wearing No. 7 Michael Vick jerseys Saturday at the Falcons' Midtown Touchdown Festival at Piedmont Park:

"I am a Michael Vick fan. He is the leader of our team. Hopefully he's innocent. Right now, he hasn't been proven guilty. ... From a business standpoint, I understand you have an image to protect. You don't want to be associated with certain things in this world, and dogfighting is one of those. That's why I think [owner] Arthur Blank is distancing himself and the team from Vick right now."

"I'm a big supporter of Michael Vick. People have just jumped to conclusions. They say there's a 95 percent conviction rate by the feds when they charge people, but there's still that 5five percent. They're not giving him due justice. What if they're wrong about this? What a mistake it would look like for the NFL and the Falcons."

— Zach McGee, 24, Atlanta

"If you make a mistake you've got to pay, but you've got to be proven guilty. I've been a Falcons fan since 1966. I believe they're best without Vick right now because of the distractions. I also believe he needs to handle his situation and not worry about football, and the team needs to try and do their best."

— Lenon Wilson Brown III, 58, Atlanta

"I'm a Mike Vick fan. It's bad for him. He's innocent until proven guilty. If he did that with the animals, he needs to be punished, but he's innocent until proven guilty. I'm undecided about if I'll keep the jersey if he's found guilty. Some people have looked at me funny when they walk by with their dogs, but some people also have said stuff to me showing their support."

— Felicia Johnson, 30, Atlanta

"If he did what they are accusing him of, they should allow him to make things right by helping animal groups and things like that. Dogfighting has been going on forever, and I think it's wrong, but why aren't people screaming over horse racing and dog racing when dogs and horses are killed when their racing days are over. It was a good decision [for the NFL to temporarily banish Vick] because it takes the pressure away from the team. The team needs their room to get done what they need to do, but I support Mike Vick. If it was another player, I'd support him, too."

— John Carter, 42, Ellenwood

"Everyone is innocent until proven guilty. I'm a fan of Vick on the football field. He's kind of an idiot off the field, but I'm a fan."

— Harrison Tedoff, 24, Atlanta

"We've been with Michael Vick since he came to the city. We're not turning our back on him for something that people want to say. We don't think he was a part of that. I think it's wrong for the NFL to keep him away. I don't think he should be suspended from the league or Nike until he's had a trial. It's dangerous to do that. When you set a precedent like that, when you get accused of something and you're not allowed to do your job anymore. It doesn't make sense to me."

— Winston Kohler, 24, Atlanta
