New left fielder Garret Anderson will get his first game action in a Braves’ uniform Thursday in an exhibition game against Venezuela.

Spring training was a week and a half old before Anderson signed with the Braves, so he has taken extra time to get into the flow.

The veteran hitter, who played 15 years for the Angels, doesn’t expect to need more than 30 or so at-bats to get ready for the season.

“It generally doesn’t take a ton of time for me to fix my timing, as far as facing pitchers,” Anderson said. “I’ll be able to get more than enough at-bats. Being a long spring helps out.”
