Johnson agrees to one-year deal with Braves

The Braves agreed to a one-year, $2.825 million contract with Kelly Johnson Wednesday, avoiding salary arbitration.

Johnson, who turns 27 on Sunday, has a .273 career batting average. Last season, the second baseman posted career highs in batting average (.287), games (150), at-bats (547), hits (157), doubles (39), RBI (69) and stolen bases (11). He also had a 22-game hitting streak.

Jeff Francoeur remains the only arbitration-eligible player on the. He is scheduled to have a hearing Friday in Phoenix.
