Braves announce Caray tribute at Turner Field
Tuesday's event open to the public

The Braves will pay tribute to longtime broadcaster Skip Caray on Tuesday with two events at Turner Field.

The team will hold a tribute at 10 a.m. at the ball park. It is free and open to the public. Speakers will include Braves chairman and CEO Terry McGuirk, Mayor Shirley Franklin, broadcast partner Pete Van Wieren and Caray's son Chip. Broadcast partner Joe Simpson will lead the event.

Fans who wish to attend can park in the Green lot and enter through the Plaza gates. Gates open at 9 a.m.

That evening, before the Braves play Chicago, those with tickets to the game will see a special pre-game ceremony with the Caray family to honor the broadcaster who passed away at his home Sunday.

Caray died at the age of 68. He had worked as a Braves broadcaster for 33 years.

Tuesday's game begins at 7:10 p.m. with the pre-game ceremonies to begin at 6:45 p.m.

A memorial service will be held Monday at 4 p.m. at Christ the King Cathedral. The service is open to the public. The Caray family is encouraging fans to attend Tuesday morning's event at Turner Field.
