Sanchez has only faced the Braves twice, both times in relief in July 2007. He went 0-1 with a 10.13 ERA in those two appearances, with four hits and three runs allowed in 2-2/3 innings. No Braves player has more than three at-bats or one hit against him.

Hampton update: The veteran makes his third start since returning from a 35-month absence for injuries. Hampton gave up four runs, seven hits and four walks in five innings for no decision Thursday in a 9-4 win against St. Louis, after being charged with six runs and eight hits in four innings at Philadelphia on July 26. The lefty is 13-4 with a 3.68 ERA in 21 starts against the Giants, but hasn't faced them since 2003. Rich Aurilia is 10-for-43 against him, while the only four other Giants who've faced him are a combined 0-for-10.
