Meanwhile, the Thrashers made qualified offers to Kari Lehtonen, Joey Crabb, Nathan Oystrick and Brett Sterling.

Once a team has made a qualified offer to a restricted free agent, it can retain that player by matching any other offer he receives or it can decline to match the offer and receive compensation for losing him.

The Thrashers' official list of unrestricted free agents: Milan Bartovic, Eric Boulton, Kevin Doell, Darren Haydar, Bobby Holik, Jason Krog, Joel Kwiatkowski, Steve McCarthy, Karel Pilar, Mark Recchi, Steve Rucchin, Mark Popovic, Jesse Schultz and Guillaume Desbiens.
