• When; where: 7:07 p.m. Friday, 1:07 p.m. Saturday, 1:07 p.m. Sunday; Rogers Centre, Toronto

• TV; radio: SPSO; 640 AM, 94.9 FM

• Probable starting pitchers: Friday night — RH Dustin McGowan (6-5, 4.21 ERA), Blue Jays vs. RH Jair Jurrjens (7-3, 3.20); Saturday — TBD for Blue Jays vs. RH Tim Hudson (8-5, 2.96); Sunday — RH A.J. Burnett (7-7, 5.07), Blue Jays vs. LH Jo-Jo Reyes (3-5, 4.48)

• Worth noting: This is the second team with a new manager that the Braves have faced in a week, after the Mariners. John Gibbons was fired a week ago after the Blue Jays lost 13 of 17 to fall 10-1/2 games behind first-place Boston in the AL East. Back at the helm is Cito Gaston, who led Toronto to World Series titles in 1992 and '93. Since he took over, the Blue Jays are 3-3. This is the Braves' last interleague series of the season, and they have gone 7-5 in them so far, winning series against Oakland, Anaheim and Seattle, and losing to Texas. The Blue Jays are 12-6 against the Braves: 6-3 in Atlanta, 6-3 in Toronto. The teams have met only once since 2001 — when Toronto swept a 2006 series at Turner Field.

• Who's hot: Lyle Overbay is 10-for-27 (.370) in his past seven games, with two doubles, a triple and a homer. He had a two-run single on Thursday.

• Friday's pitching matchup: Jurrjens hasn't given up an earned run in two starts (13-2/3 innings) since missing a turn in Chicago with a sprained ankle. With extra time for a blister to heal, he has been much more effective with his change-up. He allowed only three hits in his previous start, a no-decision against the Mariners in which two first-inning errors by Omar Infante cost him three unearned runs. The Braves have won his past three starts, though. Jurrjens is leading NL rookie pitchers in ERA (3.20) and wins (seven). He's tied for the major league lead in wins by a rookie with Armando Galarraga, who pitches for Jurrjens' former team, the Detroit Tigers. ... McGowan, 26, is a Savannah native and first-round pick in the 2000 draft out of Long County High School. He's 4-1 with a 1.73 ERA at home this season. Since throwing a complete game to beat Seattle 3-1 on June 10, he's thrown nine innings combined in his past two starts — a win over Pittsburgh and a loss to Milwaukee.
