Utility player Omar Infante has been recalled from his injury-rehab assignment at Class AAA Richmond and is expected to be in uniform for the Braves for Thursday's series finale with the Padres. Backup catcher Brayan Pena has a mid-back strain and likely will be placed on the 15-day DL.

The Braves announced the Infante move after Wednesday night's victory against San Diego. Infante has been on the disabled list all season recovering from a broken left hand. He was hit by a pitch during winter ball, shortly after the Braves acquired him in a trade with the Chicago Cubs that also brought reliever Will Ohman to Atlanta.
