Braves broadcaster Joe Simpson missed Sunday's game after undergoing an emergency appendectomy early Sunday at Piedmont Hospital.
Broadcast partner Skip Caray said Simpson felt queasy in the late innings of the game they called Saturday night. He had surgery at about 5 a.m. Sunday.

Braves radio voice Pete Van Wieren said Simpson was recovering well and planned to be back in the booth Tuesday, after the team's day off Monday.
Simpson was replaced by former Braves slugger Ron Gant.
