• Stat corner: Injured in 2004, he played 43 fewer games, saw his extra-base hits drop from 72 to 32, and his on base-plus- slugging percentage (OPS) go from .917 to .821.
• Career highlight: "Two home runs against Pittsburgh in '02 [he had two home runs and four RBIs in a 6-0 win against brother Brian Giles' team]. My brother was playing left field and both homers went to left-center, kind of over his head."

• Stat corner: Over the past 10 seasons, Jones ranks third in the majors in hits (1,703), seventh in runs (1,033), eighth in RBIs (1,039), 13th in homers (310) and second in game-winning RBIs (151).
• Career highlight: "Winning the [1995] World Series is right at the top. And the series against the Mets in '99 was pretty special - four home runs, and they all put us in the lead in a three-game September sweep. And my first playoff game in Colorado ['95], I hit two home runs and made a good defensive play."

• Stat corner: Hit .306 with 11 homers in his last 65 games in 2004, and led Braves with .576 slugging percentage after All-Star break. Had only 20 at-bats vs. lefties.
• Career highlight: "The playoffs last year. Just the whole experience. The big hit probably capped it for me." He hit a winning homer in Game 4 of the division series at Houston, a three-run shot in the sixth off Chad Qualls. LaRoche also hit a tying double in the eighth inning of an 11-inning victory in Game 2.

• Stat corner: In his first regular lineup duty (2B), he raised his average 94 points to a career-best .320 at Richmond and led the team in average and steals (24).
• Career highlight: "Playing in the Olympics [in Greece]. Just being there, that whole experience." He was MVP of the Canadian baseball team after batting .353 with a triple, home run and eight RBIs in nine games at the 2004 Athens Games.

• Stat corner: Called up from AA Mississippi in July. Atlanta native hit three-run homer against Chicago in ML debut.

• Stat corner: He's won seven consecutive Gold Gloves while averaging 32 homers and 98 RBIs since 1998. His OPS has slipped from .907 in 2000 to .833 in '04.
• Career highlight: "When I hit three home runs in one game at Philadelphia [Sept. 25, 2002]. I was feeling pretty good." But what about his two homers in Game 1 of 1996 World Series at age 19? Jones scoffed and said, "We didn't win."

• Stat corner: Won organization's Hank Aaron minor league award for hitting, setting career bests in average (.298), doubles (34), homers (20) and RBIs (72) at Richmond.
• Career highlight: "I think just getting to be on the bench in 2003 for Game 1 of the [division series vs. Chicago], seeing the atmosphere for that series against the Cubs and just soaking it up." (Langerhans wasn't on the playoff roster.)
