What should Georgia-Florida rivalry be called?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
So we’re not supposed to refer to the Georgia-Florida game as the “World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” anymore.
Any other suggestions?
Some have offered “Rivalry on the River,” but that seems a little bland for a game with so much fire.
Surely, you can do better than that. Let’s hear your best ideas for what to call the Georgia-Florida rivalry.

Look, I’m a Tech grad and all, and this is ridiculous.
The Florida-Georgie game is “The World’s Largest Cocktail Party” and it should ALWAYS be known as that. Anything else is just denial of the obvious activities that surround the event. It’s like calling Christmas a “holiday event”.
You damned PC weasels and the dying press are taking yourselves so seriously and cannot see the fun in anything. And remember, I’m not even involved with this event.
Enjoy yourselves, college football fans, at “The World’s Largest Cocktail Party” this weekend. And To Hell With Georgie!

Ridiculous. My children and my children’s children will refer to this game as The World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party. Why must TV people and overly PC president’s bowing to the almighty tv dollar continue to ruin the best sport in America???? BCS is a joke. These new subdivision labels are a joke. This is PC run amuck. This is one of the best rivalries in America and it has a GREAT nickname. Let it be. While we’re at it, let’s have them change BOURBON STREET in New Orleans. It might promote drinking during the Sugar Bowl. Get over yourselves.

Realistically, this game should end in its current format if UGA wants to contend consistently for the NC. It is nothing more than a home game for UF. But, I can say that one of the best times of my life was when I went to a party during the game weekend and woke up in Gainesville!! I thought I was going to have to chew my arm off to get out of there, but that’s college life. It isn’t that far!! Now that I am an adult, I would like to see a home and home arrangement!

I’ve been to Jax for the game before and I’ve seen people sick, people passed out, people having sex, etc. UGA is turning into a joke, and something needs to be done about it. Maybe you party idiots don’t think so, but the rest of us want to be proud of our school and its reputation.

Although the problem is idiots who absolutely have to tailgate and drink to make fools of themselves as 40 year olds, and not the name itself - THe World’s LArgest OUtdoor Cocktail Party is history and a tradition that has been mucked up by morons. But if in all seriousness I have to choose another name:

I think that I speak for the vast majority of the people out there in both the Dawg and Gator Nations (read: the people who spend the money, drive the ratings and patronize the advertisers) when I say that you, the university presidents and all of the other bun-haired busybodies can call it whatever you like; but my future children and my future children’s children will be calling it “The Worlds Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party” as my parents did and my grandparents did before them. See you there. Go Dawgs. RGH Class of ‘92

I conferred with the Commish of the More Taste League and in a landslide vote of 2-0, we came up with, “THE WORLD’S BIGGEST OUTDOOR COCKTAIL PARTY”. Adams needs to find another cause to “make his mark” and leave this alone. Al he does is bring it to the forefront even more than before.

Alabama has had one half of a good season and think they have arrived, they had one good half against Georgia and has struggled to put anybody away since, expect well Tennessee. Get Real. It’s obvious Georgia’s line has gotten alot better,no wonder these Obama fans are pulling for the Gators.

Good lawd Jay….you guys have an awesome first half against UGA and you think you are world beaters. I, as well as a ton of GA fans respect the hell out of Alabama football………..but you guys are starting to get as cocky as Florida fans. Not so fast my friend. Careful as you go. Florida was supposed to be unbeatable…..look what happened. You guys may run the table and I’ll give you your props if you do. Most of us take the a$$ whippin you gave us in stride, and hope we meet you again with a chance of redemption. If not, I hope you guys make it to the big dance and take care of business. GO SEC and GO DAWGS!!!!

Call it what you want, along with Michael Adams, who ran off Coach Dooley, and who I feel needs to stick to being school president not AD. But me, it is heritage and will always be “The Worlds Largest Cocktail Party”. If Adams does not like the name then he can stay home as far as I am concerned.

The Great annual orgy of the Great FLorida/Georgia Testosterone Challenge, barely under control, when grown young men attempt to best others through supreme eforts to gain the upper position on guys on the bottom. This is usually followed by the momentary winner leaping up to demonstrate his prowess by bellowing and flexing his bursting frame. Bodily fluids drip and run all over the men locked in what seems to be mortal combat, but is subtly choreographed to assure the hormonal stoked thrill seeking can occur next week.

How about:

THE CROC OF BULL [dawg] PARTY
The Dawgs should go to home and home games. Playing in FL gives the Gators the edge.
GO DAWGS. DEFEND THE HONOR OF THE GLORIOUS STATE OF GEORGIA, ONE OF THE ORGINAL 13, WHICH FLORIDA IS NOT!
BTW, I’m somewhat annoyed at the AUC [Atlanta Urinal and Constipation]. So many blogs for the Dawgs, and not a single one for my beloved Yellow Jackets tonight who also have a big game with another Florida team. Talk about media bias. This paper used to be the home town paper for Tech. I guess there are more rednecks in Atlanta than educated fans. [Sorry, Dawgs. I couldn’t help myself.]

The ‘Cocktail Party’ label has served us for a lot longer than Michael Adams and it’ll serve us long after he’s gone - which can’t be soon enough for me. Adams doesn’t speak for the Bulldog Nation and never will. All he is is a power-hungry, Machiavellian personality with a Napoleonic complex - and, apparently, a prude of the highest order. Drink up boys and to hell with him.

What is the top-ranked ACC team ?
Trick question.
There is not 1.
Next year is year number 20. We have Won 3 games. That’s NOT a Rivalry and you know it.
49-10.
Florida will jump to Number 2 and Alabama will jump to Number 1, and may the best team Win.
Congratulations to them both.
I told you Texas beat 2 teams who still today have beat no one.
Oklahoma has Won 5 of the last 8 Big XII Championships, and this year will be 6 of the last 9, and Oklahoma has Lost 4 Consecutive BCS Bowl Games so that the Big XII does not even have a Winning Record in BCS Bowl Games either while The SEC is undefeated in Title Games and 11-4 in BCS Bowl Games.
The Big XII is a joke with all the Coaches out there and all the sportswriters out there all, everyone of them, voting for just the Big XII with the Big XII All-Time 42-44 Bowl Record.
And, everyone knows that the miserable Big XII has a Losing Record in BCS Title Games just exactly as the Big 10 does.
