O Atlanta, how shall you fare in Canada?
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
The Braves travel to Toronto this weekend to face the embattled Blue Jays to close out this season’s installment of interleague play.
Atlanta is 7-5 against American League teams this year. With Wednesday’s win over the Brewers, the Braves (39-41) stand four games behind Philadelphia in NL.
Bobby Cox will face in the opposing dugout former Brave Cito Gaston, whom he has managed, has had as a coach on his staff and faced in the 1992 World Series. Gaston, who led Toronto to World Series titles in 1992 and ‘93 and had not managed a baseball squad for more than a decade before taking over last week, manages a Blue Jays (38-42) team that is more than 10 games behind Boston in the AL East. The team is 3-3 under Gaston.
With the Phillies coming to the Ted next week, what are your expectations of the Braves this weekend?
Should the team continue to rest the ailing Chipper Jones? Should Brent Lillibridge get some playing time? Who would constitute your lineup?
And how will the Braves finish off the first half of the season?
