The Dawgs have repeatedly shown that they have the poise and the desire to come back late in games when it looks like it’s over, which is what championship teams must have. Fresno has a great team but I wouldn’t be surprised if they can’t regroup after losing that lead last night.

How Bout Them DAWGS?! Maybe tonight Mike Patrick will choke on that “cinderella” slipper he’s been so high on. His commentary is so ONE SIDED toward FSU it’s not funny. Anytime we came up big last night, he would say it was a mistake by FSU. Take the great line drive catch and double play that Beckham had after FSU took the lead. He just said it was a mistake by FSU and gave him no credit for the heads up play. Another: when FSU hit their HRs, they were “monstrous bombs” but when Beckham destroyed his clutch HR in the 8th, all he talked about was the FSU pitcher, nothing about Beckham. Even after the game, he said don’t count FSU out, they are still the team to beat.

I have to give credit where credit is due. Fresno put together some pretty good pitching with a poor rotation (high ERAs). The rally came off their closer. Until then, Fresno was keeping the Dawgs in check. It certainly made for an exciting game, but haven’t they all been. If the Dawgs can stay humble they win.

Yes, I think the Dawgs will leave no doubt about who is the better team tonight and hopefully, they’ll do it in a very dominant and authoritative way. From top to bottom, we have the better team, but just don’t seem to show it until we’re trailing. Last night, it was hard watching them struggle to string together hits against a pitching staff that was so obviously inferior. I guess some teams just play better with their backs against the wall, and Diamond Dawgs are just such a team. That’s cool, but I really would like not to bite any more fingernails tonight. Heck, I’m already down to the knubs!

I think the Imposter Dogs are done after that demoralizing defeat last night. You could tell by the look on the face of the Fresno players and their emotions that the loss was a real kick in the dawgnuts. The real Dawgs will when big tonight. I got tired of hearing the Cinderella story last night. Fresno State has a great team and they have overcome great odds; so has UGA. Sports analyst were counting on the Dawgs to lose against NC State. We were the underdogs at the begining of the playoffs. I just wish we could play all 9 innings with the same intensity that we play the 8th inning. With Montgomery on the mound and Fields back in his groove I think we can “Finish the Drill”

Both Georgia and Fresno State deserve alot of credit for getting to the finals… That was a great game last night…very exciting… Great defense, great Offense, and a gutty performances by all.. That was one great game last night. I was disappointed to read on one of Fresno’s sports blogs last night where they “were not impressed with our pitching” and that “they gave us the game”. I was very impressed with Fields 12 pitches to close the door! I thought both teams played one heck of a game and both showed why they are there. However I do hope my DAWGS (the Georgia ones) wrap it up tonight. Way to go Dawgs!!!

Go Dawgs!! What a great game. Don’t count our chickens just yet. The Fresno Dogs have had one heck of a CWS run. Hopefuuly their pitching is taxed and the Dawgs from the clssic city can close things out tonight.

Speaking of the whole underdog BS, there was a big debate about this on the ESPN message board last night after the game (UGA vs. FSU conversation board). All of us Dawg fans were talking about how biased ESPN crew was. You wouldn’t belive all the crap we got from the Fresno Dogs. We were outnumbered but the southern dawgs held their own. Would love to get more UGA Dawgs on there tonight so we can outnumber the left coast dogs.

From what I heard last night Mike Patrick has the hots for Fresno’s third baseman and the only words Oral knows is gamer and gym-rat. ESPN should be ashamed of their coverage. The announcers (Patrick) are only trying to play up the underdogs for ratings. Folks, that’s what it’s all about to ESPN or anyone else in media. FSU is a compelling story.

I otherwise can’t stand UGA, but I have been pulling for them in the CWS. They have been playing some great baseball and that’s what it’s all about.

BUT, again UGA will be overrated in football and lose a game during the season that they weren’t supposed to. By the end of the season they will be hoping for someone else to lose instead of taking care of business like you’re supposed to. CHOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It appears that many of your Georgia fans have not been paying attention to recent history. Your overconfidence may come back to bite you from the “left coast” Bulldogs. Arizona St. won big over FSU in the first game of the Super Regional and FSU came back to win twice. And meaning no disrespect, but Arizona St. is more impressive than Georgia.

It’s too bad that Fresno’s ace has been shelved since early May. Then you would have seen a guy throw 97 and start games, not throw 97 out of the pen for one inning.

The Carolina game was much different. Carolina had a big win, but they didn’t “take” the game from you after a HUGE inning from FSU. Much different vibe last night. Y’all just racked up 3 rins in dramatic fashion and thought you had it won.

ASU was also much different. They killed y’all that first game. Lot of motivation for your team after that. Again - last night was much different. we didn’t kill anybody. We krept up on you. Matter of fact, the way the espn crew reacted you would of thought y’all were favored.

I’m not saying it’s over. Players will decide that on the field. But from where I sit, it sure doesn’t look good after that dramtic comeback from the Classic City Dawgs.

Oh - and one more thing. Your pitching staff was not taxed against Carolina or Arizona St like it is now.

Think about it, UGA gets no respect form ANY broadcasting team in any sport. It’s tough with Southern broadcasters, as most hate UGA(Lee Corso, Loy Holtz & especially Craig James are great examples). ANYONE out of the South hates UGA, if they even know anything about them(other than the fact that we are all stupid Rednecks). The only time they change over is when we are beating the crap out of someone. One example, the Sugar Bowl. The BCS put us there. We wanted to play USC, Ohio St.,LSU anyone other than Hawaii. We cream them & get no respect for doing it. UGA did not pick that game.

Sorry guys. Fresno State is 4-0 in elimination games. They beat #3 Arizona State twice in elimination games IN their own stadium. So don’t think falling behind 1-0 is going to “break our spirit.”

Dead arms? Fresno held you down for 7 innings with a bunch of scrubs. The only weakness happened to be our starting closer.

You’re fortunate that Fresno State left so many runners on base in the early innings.

Last night was a great well played exciting game for both sides. The better team last night pulled out the victory and that was the Dawgs. Even with Mike Patrick cheering on FST after going out in front 6-3 I watched knowing that the game was far from over. It had been too good and alas I was right.

Hulsey you are grasping at straws. There is not one Georgia Bulldog playing on the hapless AZ ST team. Fresno beat them and good for your boys but it means absolutely D*ICK. I have admired Fresno throughout the CWS and it was a good run but now its over.

F ST had a mediocre season and a good trot through the Regionals, Supers and now the CWS. I expect tonight you’ll see the end of that cinderella season and see a Georgia Bulldog team that won’t lose. It was a good game last night but tonight, your boys are out matched

I just had to turn the volume off after hearing Mike Patrick go on and on about the Fresno bulldogs. He didn’t let up, on and on, so, off the sound went. Couldn’t find it on radio. Anyone know a radio station that carries the game?

Seeing the stat that “Fresno State is 4-0 in elimination games this tournament” is meaningless, since UGA is 5-0 in elimination games in the tournament (4-0 in the regional, 1-0 in the Super Regional).

Numbers can be manipulated to mean whatever you want them to mean. It’s why public opinion polls tend to miss what the public’s opinion really is.

Bill, I was able to pick up the game on the internet. I went to georgiadogs.com and it had listen to now link. The anouncers I was listening to were UGA announcers. So the only bias was the good kind.

There’s a reason Gordon Beckham was drafted no. 5 in the first round. The boy can pound the ball, and so can his teammates Poythress, Piesel, Cierone, et.al. Especially in the clutch - give a Dawg his due.

Man, I’m watching the series now, but dam…..I just don’t know how you guys can really, really get in to this. I’m tryin’ guys. It’s cool that we made it to this level, but man, I guess I’m just not a baseball person. But I’m glad that a ton of UGA fans are. Please don’t fault me for that, it’s just not my sport.

We’ve made a couple of errors and now it’s 5-1. We looked good early but are looking like we need to change pitchers now. We’ll see.

Fresno State looking good right now. Don’t know what the home plate umpire was looking at last inning when the Dawgs were batting and he called that low inside pitch strike three. Would have loaded the bases with only one out. Hope that doesn’t come back to bite us. Down by three but never count these Dawgs out. Five innings left for the Dawgs big bats to get it done.

Amazing how the dawgs cant close out the cws. How do you lose a lead after the 5 spot that was put on the board and give up 19 runs. Cant get ahead in the count.
