Sudden death at U.S. Open
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution
Tiger Woods and Rocco Mediate have begun their sudden-death playoff, starting at the par-4 No. 7.
Woods opened by driving into the fairway, on the right side. Mediate hit into the left bunker with his drive. He’s 185 yards away, and his bunker shot hit the cart path and now he’s in real trouble.
Woods is 156 yards away. His second shot is on the green, about 18 feet from the hole.
Mediate hits his third shot and is on the green, 12 feet from the pin.
Woods lines up his putt from about 18 feet. He comes up 3 inches short, and has that putt for par.
Mediate needs to make his 12-footer for par. He misses. Woods taps in his short put for par.
Tiger Woods has won the U.S. Open.

I’m following it closely. My productivity level at work today is extremely low due to this.
Hope Rocco pulls one out!

I work at home, so I have the match on TV with the sounds turned to music. Very pleasurable way to watch golf, IMHO.

This day will probably approach, if not equal, the opening day of the NCAA basketball tournament in terms of its toll on American workplace productivity. But the best thing is… my boss is a bigger fan than I am. :-)

How can anybody be “sick of Woods”!! The man is a soon to be golf legend and remember, he is showing that he is not a mama’s boy by playing with a sore knee. Go Tiger!!!

Man, what an Open. Though I’m also a big Tiger fan, I couldn’t help pulling for Rocco. Oh well, you just have to take every opportunity against Tiger. If not, you lose. Congrats to the best player in golf. Now, Goooooooooo Dawgs. Beat the Cardinal, and make the Jackets miserable again tonight.

Is he real? somebody cut him and see if he bleeds…his Pop said he would shock us with his accomplishments, but I dont think any of us saw this coming - Nicklaus’ record of 73 top tens in majors is sick though - I wonder if the Tiger man will stick around to challenge that mark - for the life of me I cannot imagine Tiger fumbling around on the Champions Tour with the beer-belly crew - lol - in closing I have to reiterate that golf has changed immensely since Tiger burst onto the scene in ‘97 at the Masters - he has injected an un-Godly amount of money and interest in the game and anyone who tries to deny that is either clueless or a hater

Tiger will still be winning on the regular tour when he’s 75! By the way, did everyone see Sam? What a cutey!

That is what the racist whites get for not letting little Tiger and his Dad have the same privileges that they did. What goes around comes around. Never fails. I hope Tiger goes on the win them all.

This is what the racist whiteys get for not letting little Tiger and his Dad play on “their” courses. Oh, I am a WHITE Grandmom who is proud to watch a fine young man play the best games than anyone. To all you who were to prejudice to let Tiger and his Dad play, WHAT GOES AROUND,COMES AROUND. Go Tiger! When them ALL!!

tiger woods won a great match. There was a winner but no loser in these match. Both men played with heart and guts. You can not ask anything else from a player. This will go down as one of the greatest opens ever played.
