First baseman Mark Teixeira returned to the Braves’ lineup for Wednesday night’s game against the Phillies at Philadelphia, after missing two games because of back spasms.
He wasn’t in the original lineup posted Wednesday afternoon, but Teixeira was added after testing his back in hitting, fielding and running drills at Citizens Bank Park.
As he came off the field following batting practice, he gave manager Bobby Cox a thumbs-up sign and said he was ready.
