Are the Braves’ ills cured?

After suffering through a four-game losing streak, the Braves have responded by winning their last four games.

In spite of the injuries that have beset the team, they’re finding ways to win through pitching and hitting.

How long do you expect it to last?

Will Atlanta slump again if Chipper’s bat cools off? Can the winning continue with a rotation full of sore arms?

Sound off here…

The Braves are really good at home this season we have to get it going on the road. And Chipper is the best hitter in baseball.

We will not be able to compete for a division championship without a solid bullpen and without a healthy rotation. The injuries suffered by Soriano, Moylan, Smoltz, Hampton and Glavine have me scared that both our rotation and bullpen will completely implode soon after the All Star break. Though our team ERA remains very solid, its not something that I can see us continuing through the rest of the year.

When is Tex going to come around?

ive watched my braves play for 19 years now, and when they had bad pitching and bad hitting they still found a way to win. this year they have good pitchers, and a good lineup. have some faith, they will win enough games to get a playoff spot. go braves

It’s all going to fall apart very soon. Moylan is done. Soriano is done. Smoltz is done. Glavine isn’t the same. Hudson is streaky. Hampton is…Hampton. You can’t expect Jurrjens to keep going like he has. It’s just a matter of time.

You call your selfs Braves fans? Get off this blog and jump on the Mets bandwagon I’m so sick of hearing stupid comments like the ones from thomas, and jeff…Yal are a joke and embarrassing to us true die hard Braves fans!!! They are tied for 3rd and only a game and a half out. The mets don’t have pitching or hitting right now. The phillies will fade out cause they don’t have a good starting rotation and Jrolls is hurt…and the marlins are young to be this good all year… Its a long season and stand up and for your Braves and be a real fan cause baby were taking the East Back!!!!!!

Go Braves!!!! Bring us Home HOSS!!!

Facts are facts, tampabravos. Don’t call out someone just because theyre not looking through the same rose colored glasses youre wearing. Try using some logic and explain how you expect us to compete through the entire year on a makeshift pitching staff. Shoot, we had to bring in our 2nd best starter (Bennett) to get the save last night!! If the staff dont get healthy soon, the Braves are doomed. There’s no other way around it. Most intelligent Braves fans who have followed the team throughout the years knows that it takes pitching to win…not hitting.

so did you all ever realize that bonds drove in a 100+ runs only 12 times from 1986-2007? Chipper has done it 9 times in half the time and without injecting foreign substances into his butt. Man the Hoss is awesome. I have a total man-crush. i wish i could inject something foreign…

They’re not cured. They’re having too hard of a time closing out games and they’re still leaving too many men on base. They’ve managed to put winning streaks together, but losing streaks seem to follow hard after… Consistancy, that is the word now.

Smoltz: Disabled Hampton: Disabled Soriano: Disabled Moylan: Disabled Gonzalez: Disbled (And recently, a “Minor setback” - read: he won’t be ready anytime soon).

September:Third Place folks!

Ummm, I think that catch by Kotsay might be worthy of a web gem!

They need a starter. I yelled when they picked up Glavine and said they needed a younger better arm. If we had gotten that then Hudson, Jurrjens and that starter could have helped to make things more stable. Glavine will be a bust as will Hampton and Smoltz this year. Yes the depth seems to have gone up in smokes folks. This pitching team is not strong enough by far to get to the world series. They just arent that tough once you get past Hudson. Jurrjens will get excited and blow it in post season. Sorry people.

Smoltz: Will be back Hampton: Never counted on him anyway Soriano: Could be a problem Moylan: Gone Gonzalez: Will be back

September: First place in NL East folks

I’m there with tampabravos. I’m sick of all of the whiners on this board. You people need to chill and takes things one game at a time. I’m expecting things to get better from an injury standpoint, not worse. Stop whining and get behind your damn team.

joeblo- If Bennett is our 2nd best starter, is he better than Hudson or JJ?

Anyone know what kind of “minor setback” Mike Gonzales had?

No, they’re not ill cured. Show me some consistency and some 1 run wins and I’ll say they’re ill cured. But not after winning 5 games in a row.

PS- I’ve awarded the Braves my customer of the year! Stop by my office in Birmingham to pick up your trophy. Or just send: Mike, John, Rafael, Martin`, Peter, or Omar.

WIN OR LOSE, I LOVE THE BRAVES! THANK YOU, TAMPABRAVOS FOR YOUR COMMENTS. MOST ATLANTA FANS ARE SO “HOT,COLD”. LOSE FOUR IN A ROW, BOBBY IS AN IDIOT, AND THE PLAYERS ALL SUCK. WIN FOUR IN A ROW, AND THE BRAVES ARE BACK. LAST WEEK, I WENT INTO A GAS STATION TO BUY GAS, WEARING A BRAVES SHIRT, AND HAD TO LISTEN TO SOME SMELLY INDIAN BEHIND THE COUNTER TELLING ME HOW MUCH THE BRAVES SUCK. I HAVE LIVED IN ATLANTA SINCE 1973, AND BELIVE ME PEOPLE, THE BRAVES HAVE COME A LONG WAY SINCE THOSE DAYS!

What’s the combined record of teams that we’ve beaten? I don’t know but, with the exception of the Dodgers, it seems like we’re beating the worst teams. If we finish .500 it’ll be a miracle.
